The Series SAH SMART Air Hood® Balancing Instrument from Dwyer Instruments delivers industry-leading airflow measurement accuracy with dramatically reduced labor time. Designed for TAB professionals, commissioning engineers, and HVAC contractors, this lightweight capture hood system combines Quad Flow airflow control with wireless handheld operation and Predictive Balancing software.
Using the included hood stand and Wi-Fi Direct communications, a single technician can balance registers, grilles, and diffusers faster than traditional multi-person teams — while maintaining lab-grade accuracy and traceability.

Quad Flow Air Control & Predictive Balancing Technology
The rugged polypropylene base hood uses patented Quad Flow Design Technology to regulate circulating air patterns and minimize backpressure — delivering stable, repeatable measurements across high- and low-flow applications.
Integrated PredictAir™ Application Software guides technicians through Express Balance workflows, calculating optimal flow setpoints and sequencing register adjustments for faster commissioning.
Wireless Operation for Single-Technician Balancing
Built-in Wi-Fi Direct communication maintains reliable connectivity up to 200 yd (183 m) between the hood and handheld instrument, allowing technicians to remain at diffusers while making system adjustments remotely.
The ergonomic, lightweight frame reduces fatigue on long balancing projects and eliminates bulky hood assemblies common in legacy airflow capture systems.
